The growth of dental insurance benefits has
created greater access to comprehensive dental care for many
patients. Our office will make every attempt to assist you in
the management of your insurance coverage. Please remember
that your dental insurance is a method of patient reimbursement for
the cost of dental care, and, as such, is not a substitute for
payment. The insurance carrier has a responsibility only to
the patient, not to the dentist. It is the patient who is
ultimately responsible to the dentist for the cost of services
provided. Under most circumstances,
our office will accept assignment of insurance benefits for routine
treatment with the patient responsible for the balance. In
cases where an insurance preauthorization establishes the patient's
degree of responsibility in advanced of treatment, it is expected
that the patient will pay his portion of the fee as treatment
progresses. If you prefer not to assign benefits to our
office, we will be happy to assist in providing you the required
forms from our office so that you may handle your claim directly.
However, as a matter of routine policy, we require payment in full
prior to releasing signed insurance forms from our office. Should questions arise regarding your dental insurance, we will be pleased to discuss these with you whenever necessary and will make every effort to help you receive the maximum benefits to which you are entitled.
